Below you will find a brief overview of various projects that have been carried out so far.

Deployment / CMTS DCA Rollout

We have been providing internet connections for over 10 years, working on behalf of renowned service providers. Our activities encompass a wide range of technical and organizational tasks. These include planning and expanding network infrastructure, laying fiber optic or copper cables, installing and configuring routers, switches, and other network components, as well as setting up access points for end customers. Connection testing, troubleshooting, and network documentation are also part of our daily work. Our goal is to provide stable and high-performance internet connections for homes and businesses.

  • Remote support throughout the entire process
  • Support in planning network nodes and network expansion in the customer's existing infrastructure
  • Support of the field service during the setup process and preliminary testing of the connections to the new hardware
  • Configuration according to defined specifications and subsequent functional testing
  • Documentation in customer systems
  • Support of a service hotline and support in relevant specialist departments
  • Troubleshooting in the customer network
  • Engineering support in the development of new technologies

Provisioning & DHCP Rollout

When the end customer turns on the available modem, it automatically sends a DHCP request to the provider's server. The DHCP server checks the device, assigns a suitable IP address, and provides additional network data (modem provisioning files). This ensures the modem is correctly integrated into the network. For years, we have been supporting our customers nationwide with the configuration and monitoring of DHCP servers. This ensures connectivity and correct addressing of the end customer's hardware.

We supported Germany's largest cable network operator in the transition to a new DHCP server architecture – from planning and creating specialist documentation, setting up pilot systems, to the migration of the customer network. Through careful preparation and effective and prompt communication with the relevant departments, we ensure that operations continue smoothly during the migration and that the impact on the end customer is kept as minimal as possible.

Operational Service

We have been active in the field of network troubleshooting for several years. This includes 24/7 on-call service, appropriate analysis of the customer network in the event of problems for the end customer, information gathering, ticket processing, and troubleshooting, all in close collaboration with the relevant departments. We have written software specifically for this area of responsibility that quickly and easily provides us and, upon request, the customer with a basic set of information to narrow down certain malfunctions in the customer's hardware in advance. This not only accelerates troubleshooting and provides the end customer with quickly restored connectivity, but also assists in identifying patterns and anomalies in the customer network.

Assembly & Field Service

Our employees also work as field service technicians for Internet Service Providers (ISP), and we are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of network technology at the customer's site. Installation activities include the installation of new hardware and the associated logistics, the laying and connection of cables such as fiber optic cables, and the testing and optimization of signal quality. Here, too, we place particular emphasis on fast communication channels and solution-oriented collaboration with the relevant departments to ensure rapid restoration of hardware connectivity.

Smart Metering

The term Smart metering refers to the automatic transmission of various consumption data, such as from electricity, gas, or water meters, to the utility company. The measured values are digitally recorded at regular intervals and transmitted via secure communication channels. This offers the customer the advantage of eliminating the need to manually read and record all consumption values; instead, this is done cost-effectively and accurately digitally. The digital recording of these measured values accelerates the administrative process and enables faster billing. Remote meter reading is a central component of modern smart metering systems and contributes to the digitalization of the energy industry.

Smart Home

A smart home thrives on the intelligent networking of a wide variety of devices, from lights and thermostats to cameras and door sensors. Network technology forms the backbone of this system, in which the devices communicate reliably with each other via wired connections, Wi-Fi, and special wireless standards such as ZigBee or Z-Wave. For everything to function smoothly, a powerful, stable, and secure network structure is required. As a sales partner for many years, we reliably offer our customers the right smart home hardware, from powerful routers to compatible end devices, and provide expert configuration support.

DOCSIS Conversion

In an age of video on demand, social media, and high connectivity, bandwidth is a key prerequisite for internet performance. It determines how much data can be transmitted in a given time and thus directly influences the speed and stability of online services. With our professional expertise, we converted a ship in the Lindblad Shipping Company (National Geographic Cruises) fleet to the current DOCSIS standard. This included both the preliminary planning phase and the implementation of the project on the ship in dry dock.

Captive Portal

Captive Portal is an effective solution for controlling and securing access to public or corporate Wi-Fi networks. Users are automatically redirected to a login page upon connection establishment before being granted access to the internet or internal resources. This process is used in hotels, airports, and cruise ships, for example. With iCruise.Systems, we have created such a system in accordance with customer requirements and in close collaboration with Lindblad Shipping. This approach allows us to evaluate the current market and its products, while also offering an alternative with improved features.

  • Central management on-shore and local management off-shore
  • Detailed and flexible reporting
  • Create and manage vouchers or internet plans, for the passengers to use
  • Multilingual system with support for all smartphones and tablets
  • Different time-dependent designs
  • Implementation of ship deck plans and restaurant menus
  • Independent of WiFi controller already installed in the network

Software Development

We also develop and support our own software solutions – customized, aligned with specific internal processes, or adapted to customer requirements. For us as a company, this approach provides greater security with regard to data protection, but also allows us to expand our expertise and continually expand our portfolio. We offer our customers support during the planning phases, a high level of flexibility, fast and uncomplicated communication channels, and, in close consultation, the rapid implementation of desired functions and essential features.

DWDM

We have also been working for our customers in the field of DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) for years. This is a process from optical network technology that allows multiple data channels to be transmitted simultaneously over a single fiber optic cable – at different wavelengths. Each of these channels uses its own wavelength, allowing many parallel data streams to be transported on a single fiber. This significantly increases the data transmission rate without the need to lay additional fiber optic cables. Areas of application include connections between data centers or the backbone networks of internet providers.

IPv6

Due to the rapid growth of the internet, particularly through mobile devices, IoT, and new services, IPv4 addresses are almost completely allocated and used up. In addition to the significantly larger address space, IPv6 also brings improvements in efficiency, security, and network management. However, the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is complex, as the two protocols are not directly compatible. Therefore, many networks currently operate in what is known as dual-stack mode to support both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. We are very familiar with this topic, have actively addressed the associated challenges, and have successfully developed solutions. We have been supporting our customers competently and reliably in this area for many years.

Wifi

We have also demonstrated our expertise in modern WLAN and Wi-Fi solutions in various customer projects. The implementation of a stable and comprehensive Wi-Fi network begins with careful planning – based on the requirements of the property and the expected number of users. Before implementation, professional Wi-Fi measurements are conducted on-site to identify sources of interference, structural conditions, and optimal locations for the access points. These measurement results are incorporated into the detailed planning and enable precise network coverage. After successful installation and configuration of the Wi-Fi controller and the access points, the Wi-Fi is provided via a captive portal – for example, for guest access with a login function, terms of use, or personalized branding.
